Companionship, practical help and peace of mind for older adults

Not everyone needs personal care. Sometimes, an older person needs a friendly face to pop in, a little help around the home, someone to share a cup of tea with, or a reassuring check-in to make sure everything is okay.

KindHeart Living provides regular companionship and practical support for older adults living independently in and around Peterborough. Whether it’s a chat over a cup of tea, help with everyday tasks, a short walk, or simply having someone there for company, our visits are designed to help older adults feel connected, supported and reassured in their own homes.

And for families, we provide something equally important: peace of mind knowing that someone they trust is checking in, spending time with their loved one and letting them know how they are.

Because sometimes, what someone needs isn’t a carer — it’s company, a helping hand and someone who genuinely cares.

After every visit, your family receives a personal written update — so you always know your loved one is well, happy and looked after.

“More than a visit — a familiar face you can rely on.”
— Founder, KindHeart Living

When I founded KindHeart Living, I made myself a promise: that we would take the time to truly know every person we visit — their personality, their stories, their routines and the little things that matter to them.

I never wanted this to feel like a service where someone is given a time slot and a task list. We don’t rush. We sit, we talk, we listen and we are genuinely present.

For families, I wanted something equally important — the reassurance of knowing that someone has been there, that everything is okay and that your loved one was with someone who was glad to be there.

And wherever possible, that someone is a familiar face. Someone your loved one knows, trusts and looks forward to seeing.

These are the standards I set for KindHeart Living — because I believe every older adult deserves nothing less.

Your questions answered

Frequently asked questions

Is KindHeart Living a care agency?
No. KindHeart Living is a companionship and wellbeing visiting service — not a care agency. Our Living Well Partners do not provide personal care. They provide genuine company, light practical help and the kind of regular, trusted presence that makes a real difference to everyday life.
What if my loved one doesn’t get on with their Living Well Partner?
We take matching seriously and take time to understand your loved one before we introduce anyone. But if for any reason the match doesn’t feel right, we will find a better fit. No awkward conversations required — just call us and we will sort it.
What happens if the Living Well Partner is ill or unavailable?
We will always contact you and your loved one as early as possible and arrange a suitable alternative where we can. You will never be left without notice. Our office is contactable by phone during office hours for any such situations.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
Memberships are paid monthly by BACS, due on the 1st of each month. There are no long-term contracts and no tie-in periods. You can cancel with 30 days’ written notice at any time — no questions asked and no cancellation fees.
Are your Living Well Partners vetted and trained?
Every Living Well Partner holds an Enhanced DBS certificate with Adults’ Barred List check before their first visit. They are trained in adult safeguarding and health and safety, and they complete a structured visit report after every single visit. We do not cut corners on this.
My loved one is quite independent — is this service right for them?
Absolutely. KindHeart Living is designed for older adults who are living independently and want to stay that way. Our visits are not about dependence — they are about connection, confidence and having something to look forward to every week.
